Inside Sales Specialist - Prince George
We are one of the fastest growing most innovative companies in the industrial automation industry and we are looking for an enthusiastic, versatile individual with proven experience in the control systems manufacturing business. We are looking for someone to join our Prince George based team to provide sales support for our Automation & Control products.
Job Requirements
- Position: technologist (or equivalent background)
- Level: Junior/Intermediate
- Experience: Minimum 2 years
- Compensation: Based on experience
- Requirements: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of Calgary electrical suppliers
- Knowledge: of PLC Systems, Variable Speed Drives
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detail proposals on control panels
- Review electrical drawing, schematics, BOMs and estimate panel manufacturing cost.
- Work with our Project Manager to coordinate panel production, and delivery.
- Procurement – generate, issue, and expedite purchase orders.

Electrical Design & Drafting
Position Profile:
We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our exceptional team of automation professionals to provide control solutions for our customers. Are you a responsible, creative and proactive person who loves to learn and contribute. Do you like the idea of enjoying BC's beautiful northern interior, and working in a relaxed yet challenging environment?
Duties:
Responsibilities include preparing and drafting drawings, and specifications for process equipment and automated control systems. Candidate will create and manage electrical bill of material for control panels and projects while working closely with our panel shop manager and project manager. Candidate should be familiar with reviewing product catalogs, technical specification, and have a strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code. Experience with AutoCAD is a must. You should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently. It would also be helpful if you learn quickly and are able to prioritize a number of tasks with minimum supervision.

Automation Specialist
Position Profile:
Looking for a highly motivated technical individual. The successful candidate will work closely with our engineering team to provide consultation and application support for our customers.
A minimum of 4 years experience in industrial controls. Preferably in the Pulp & Paper, Oil & Gas, Forestry, and Mining Industries. We are willing to train the right individual. We value a strong work ethic and a professional attitude. Applicants must be willing to travel and work irregular hours. Valid Canadian passport and BC driver's licence are required.
Experience Preferred:
- Experience with PLC-based control systems; working knowledge of HMIs and operator interfaces as well as industrial networks.
- Electrical Engineering & Design.
- Experience with Wonderware, RS View, GE Cimplicity, Citect.
- Variable Speed Drive and Servo control systems - AB, Mitsubishi, Baldor, Toshiba, Cutler Hammer.
- Sawmill, OSB, MDF, Material Handling Systems, Pulp Mill, Oil/Gas and Mining Control applications.
- Experience with MS Word, Excel would be an asset.

Position Profile:
GLC Controls Inc. has created an exciting new position ideal for a person who loves the challenge of learning and applying technology. This position will be based in our Prince George office. Applicant will be responsible for providing technical and application support to our customers and sales team. Ideal candidate will have some technical education and background, be very motivated to learn new technology.
Duties:
- Provide phone and onsite technical assistance
- Excellent customer service skills
- Provide technical and application assistance
- Develop strong customer relationships
- Assist on large proposals
- Assist outside and inside sales team
- Evaluate new technology
- Some electrical panel wiring work
