Automation Specialist
Position Profile:
Looking for a highly motivated technical individual. The successful candidate will work closely with our engineering team to provide consultation and application support for our customers.
A minimum of 4 years experience in industrial controls. Preferably in the Pulp & Paper, Oil & Gas, Forestry, and Mining Industries. We are willing to train the right individual. We value a strong work ethic and a professional attitude. Applicants must be willing to travel and work irregular hours. Valid Canadian passport and BC driver's licence are required.
Experience Preferred:
- Experience with PLC-based control systems; working knowledge of HMIs and operator interfaces as well as industrial networks.
- Electrical Engineering & Design.
- Experience with Wonderware, RS View, GE Cimplicity, Citect.
- Variable Speed Drive and Servo control systems - AB, Mitsubishi, Baldor, Toshiba, Cutler Hammer.
- Sawmill, OSB, MDF, Material Handling Systems, Pulp Mill, Oil/Gas and Mining Control applications.
- Experience with MS Word, Excel would be an asset.

Technical Sales
Position Profile:
Looking for a highly motivated technical sales representative. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day sales of our products and services. The candidate will also be responsible for preparing quotations and providing some technical support.
Experience in industrial controls would be a great asset. Preferably in the Pulp & Paper, Oil & Gas, Forestry, and Mining Industries. We are willing to train the right individual. We value a strong work ethic and a professional attitude. Applicants must be willing to travel and work irregular hours. Valid Canadian passport and BC driver's license is required.
Experience Preferred:
- Previous sales experience would be an asset.
- Technical writing skills.
- Good communications skill.
- Marketing background would be an asset.
- Experience in developing and executing a sales plan.

Technical & Application Support
Position Profile:
GLC Controls Inc has created an exciting new position ideal for a person who loves the challenge of learning and applying technology. This position will be based in our Prince George office. Applicant will be responsible for providing technical and application support to our customers and sales team. Ideal candidate will have some technical education and background, be very motivated to learn new technology.
Duties:
- Provide phone and onsite technical assistance
- Excellent customer service skills
- Provide technical and application assistance
- Develop strong customer relationships
- Assist on large proposals
- Assist outside and inside sales team
- Evaluate new technology
- Some electrical panel wiring work
* Help sales group develop new business through suggesting related and new items and explaining technical features and benefits.
* Updates job knowledge by studying new product descriptions; participating in educational opportunities.
* Accomplishes department and organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Skills/Qualifications:
Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
